Lambing Season on the Estate

This year’s lambing season has been a successful one for G.H. Dean, with around 3,000 lambs born across the estate. It’s a rewarding milestone in the farming calendar and a welcome sight as the fields fill with new life.

This year’s lambing season has been a successful one for G.H. Dean, with around 3,000 lambs born across the estate. It’s a rewarding milestone in the farming calendar and a welcome sight as the fields fill with new life.

Lambing is one of the busiest periods of the year, requiring care, patience and close attention to the wellbeing of both ewes and their lambs. From preparing for the first arrivals to helping newborns get off to a good start, there is plenty of work behind the scenes.

As the lambs grow, time at pasture gives them space to explore and develop alongside their mothers. Sheep also play an important role in the estate’s wider farming system, grazing grassland and helping us make productive use of the land.

A successful season is something to celebrate, and we’d like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and commitment throughout this important time of year.
